Bangkok's Culinary Elite Shine at TOP25 Restaurants 2024 Awards

Bangkok; 12 June 2024 – The culinary landscape of Bangkok received its annual spotlight at the Park Hyatt Bangkok with the unveiling of the TOP25 Restaurants 2024 list.The event, hosted by TOP25Restaurants.com, celebrated the city’s finest dining establishments, marked by the introduction of special awards for the first time.
POTONG, renowned for its Thai-Chinese fusion and led by Chef Pichaya “Pam” Soontornyanakij, clinched the top position. It was closely followed byCôteby Mauro Colagreco,at the Capella hotel with Chef Davide Garavaglia at the helm, and Baan Tepa, a new two-star Michelin recipient. SORN, famed for its Southern Thai cuisine under Chef Ice, rounded out the top four.
This year’s guide featured a notable addition of seven new entries, including Embassy Room, which introduced Bangkok to its first Catalan Culinary Experience, and Chai Jia Chai, a modern Cantonese omakase restaurant. Another highlight was ÎNT, which has impressed diners with a progressive Thai 13-course tasting menu.
For the first time, the Travelindex Group introduced the TOP25 Restaurants Special Awards, expanding the recognition beyond the top 25 winners to celebrate broader achievements in the culinary field. These awards honoured excellence in culinary heritage, ground breaking innovation, and emerging talent within the industry. The Restaurant Industry Innovation Award went to PerfectCheck, acknowledging their significant contributions to restaurant innovation. Chef Goji Kobayashi, the chef-owner of Sushi Kuuya, received the Young Rising Star Chef Award, highlighting his exceptional talent and promise in the culinary scene. Additionally, North Restaurant was recognised with the Culinary Heritage Excellence Award, celebrating its dedication to preserving and promoting culinary traditions.
The TOP25 Restaurants Guide, initiated in 2018 by Bernard Metzger, was the first in the world to utilise artificial intelligence to curate its selections, aiming to transform the discovery and celebration of exceptional dining experiences. “Back when we started, the concept of AI in culinary rankings was still novel. Our goal was to create a dynamic and objective guide that stands apart in the global dining scene,” explained Metzger.
The award ceremony, held on June 10, 2024, saw the presence of Mr. Chattan Kunjara Na Ayudhya, Deputy Governor for International Marketing (Asia and South Pacific) at the Tourism Authority of Thailand, and Mr. Noor Ahmad Hamid, CEO of the Pacific Asia Travel Association. They personally presented elegant certificates to each of the top 25 restaurants, highlighting their rank and achievement in 2024.
The event not only showcased the gastronomic brilliance of Bangkok but also reinforced the city’s status as a global culinary capital.
